Field Station

In 2020, construction of the Field Station to replace Het Zeeuwse Landschap’s Summer House, which was demolished last year, was commissioned. In this project, nature-inclusive construction is a central design principle. In the use of materials, as much as possible
used local, biobased or reclaimed materials.

Super smart charging plaza and shared cars

In 2021, Vlissingen municipality and Province of Zeeland commissioned a feasibility study and plan of action for a Super Smart charging plaza with smart electric shared cars in Vlissingen.

Request for proposal > Feasibility of the most optimal solution for the short and medium term (redevelopment Stationsgebied Vlissingen in early 2023).

Innovative lock

In 2020, the maintenance of the inner eb-doors was tendered of the large lock in Flushing. In this project, an innvative technique was chosen in which the pannara wheel was replaced by a slewing ring. This innovation is robust, compact, has a longer lifespan and is safer.

Market Port Brouwershaven

In 2021, the redevelopment of the market and a section around the port in Brouwershaven Schouwen-Duiveland was put on the market under the Infra Works Framework Agreement. With this redevelopment, Brouwershaven is preparing for the future with the goal of remaining “The most beautiful town on the Grevelingen .

In 2021, the redesign of the Kerkring Renesse was put on the market by the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland under the framework agreement Infrawerken. The goal of the redevelopment is to improve the attractiveness and stay quality of the center and create a more pleasant public space.

The Drive

In 2020, the redesign of the Dreef in the village of Bruinisse was put on the market by the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland under the framework contract Infrawerken. The goal of the redesign is to improve the quality of stay and a pleasant public space.

Leisure Lane

In 2020, the Province of Limburg and the municipalities of Beekdaelen, Heerlen, Brunssum, Landgraaf, Kerkrade, Simpleveld and IBA Parkstad B.V. signed a cooperation agreement to create a 33.4 km recreational slow traffic route.

In 2020, Province of Limburg entered into an agreement for the maintenance contract for pavements with open items (OMOP). This involves subcontracts from the preparatory phase to the time of execution to be tendered.

Challenge > Through a circular economy plan of action, the contribution to improve the degree of circularity during the contract must be within the available budget.

Circular cleaning

In 2020, Province of Limburg entered into an agreement to clean the Gouvernement and outdoor locations. This assignment is reserved for social work companies. In addition to cleaning, the job includes collecting office and sanitation residuals.

Circular lighting

In 2020, Province of Limburg, together with the municipalities of Maastricht, Meerssen and Sittard-Geleen, entered into a new contract to provide and maintain public lighting. About 7,500 light poles and 9,000 fixtures.

The solicitation > The minimum criteria for open lighting from the MVI Criteria tool was an eligibility requirement. A 20% plan of attack for innovation and sustainability in its own organization and in relation to the contract was considered as an award criterion.

Circular paper

In 2020, Province of Limburg contracted the waste stream of office paper (used copy paper, cardboard, cardboard coffee cups and paper towels) and its processing into new copy paper with 100% recycled fibers for 4 years.

The solicitation > A valid ISO14001 certificate was an eligibility requirement. As an award criterion, a plan of aannpak circular paper production, a logitical plan for CO2 reduction and reliability in retrieval were considered 50%.

Waste

In 2020, Province of Limburg decided to enter into a service agreement for the collection and most sustainable/circular processing of the waste streams: residual waste, organic waste, small chemical waste, cans, beverage cartons, glass and coffee grounds.

ferry

In 2019, the municipality of Goes decided to renew the ferry jetty for the bicycle and foot ferry in Wolphaartsdijk.

For this call for tenders, we chose to include reusability now and in the future. The municipality had the existing scaffolding preconstructively assessed for reuse.

This is the first scaffolding with a material passport.

Client

Challenge > The use of healthy preservatives and sustainable wood was a knockout requirement. Value retention of materials (now and in the future) was an award criterion.

Building A

In 2020, Province of Zeeland renovated the redesign of the entrance and reception areas to collaborate with externals. The purpose of the renovation is to meet and work together.

Challenge > The use of biobased products and energy conservation were central to the redesign.

N62 Tractaatweg

In 2017, Province of Zeeland decided to expand the N62 ‘Tractaatweg’ (100 km/h) in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen from 1 lane to 2 lanes in both directions. Includes construction of four new overpasses.

The N62 is an important link road between the seaports and industrial area of Ghent (Belgium) with Terneuzen and Vlissingen (the Netherlands).

The purpose of the widening was to improve the flow and safety of the road.

Client

Challenge > The use of biobased products was a knockout requirement. In this tender, 2 biobased products were prescribed. In addition, providers could choose from about three packages and had to formulate a pilot to apply innovative products.

furniture abbey complex

In 2018, Provincie Zeeland entered into a framework agreement for the supply of loose furniture for the Abbey complex, in Middelburg.

Supplies include desks, office chairs, conference tables and chairs, lounge workstations, cabinets and seating.

When designing the building, a flexible office concept was chosen that invites collaboration and meeting, with the aim of stimulating and supporting task-driven work.

The call for tender > The award criterion chose value retention of materials. by making infinite reuse concrete in the design for two products, including a fixed amount for take-back and making refurbishment of current furniture concrete.

N253 traffic circle

In 2019, Province of Zeeland decided to construct a traffic circle in the N253 near Sint Anna Ter Muiden.

The N253 is an important access road for (tourist) visitors to Sluis and freight traffic on the Terneuzen – Zeebrugge route.

The purpose of the traffic circle is to improve traffic safety and traffic flow.

Client

The tender > In the award criterion, the application of the Environmental Cost Indicator was chosen to calculate the environmental impact, application of bio-based materials, integration into the natural environment and limiting nuisance during construction.

local Paper recycle

In 2018, Province of Zeeland decided to start a pilot with WEPA Netherlands the supplier of hygiene paper.

The purpose of the pilot is to collect paper towels used in washrooms to be used as a raw material for toilet paper for Province of Zeeland.

Client

Future Lab by Satino was looking for partners to develop new cycles in addition to paper collection for hygiene paper is testing whether hygiene wipes can serve as a raw material.
