Renewable energy

Eight provinces formed a procurement collective in 2018 to carry out a joint European tender for supply of renewable electricity and green gas, respectively.

By the end of 2019, this led to two agreements with 100% renewable energy without fossil fuels
.

In the signed electricity agreement it is included to get electricity supplied in the last 2 supply years from projects yet to be developed (additionality), through, for example, sustainable generation in infrastructure projects.

The signed gas agreement resulted in 100% green gas by 1-1-2020, switching Province of Zeeland from fossil gas to renewable gas.
